We need your support.

Vision for Vision depends on your support so we can help communities in Los Angeles protect their vision from preventable eye diseases. Our student-run non-profit group has accomplished much in the past few years, and have big ambitions to further our reach.

Throughout the year, our team gathers trained volunteers to administer visual acuity tests to patients at local health clinics. We’ve had the privilege of screening various populations within our community at the following clinics:

  • Golden Futures Senior Expo → 75 patients screened annually
  • Community Health Involvement Project Health Fair → 50 patients screened annually
  • Community Health Connection Health Fair → 70 patients screened annually
  • Asian Pacific American Medical Students Association Health Fair → 50 patients screened annually

Spreading the Knowledge

Vision for Vision also strives to educate the community about the health of their eyesight. We’ve created presentations about topics from glaucoma and cataracts, to the maintenance of healthy eyes and presented them to senior centers in Los Angeles, including:

  • Watts Senior Center
  • Fairmount Terrace
  • Hollyview Senior Apartments
  • Highland Park Senior Center
  • Video Presentations
    • Each reaching multiple senior centers in the area

Once a year, our team organizes and hosts health panels for students to learn from and network with individuals in the health field, including medical students and doctors. These sessions provide opportunities to ask questions and make connections.
